Intriguing matches in Europa League
The second stage of the group stage of the Europa League starts this Thursday. And while some groups nearly favorites have secured rankings ahead, other teams have more work if they want to play European matches and spring.
Only three teams managed to collect maximum points so far - Zenit St Petersburg, Shakhtar Donetsk and Schalke 04. Whoever of them fail to win even a single meeting by the end of the group stage will secure qualification for the knockout phase.
Several groups in which the final ranking is too vague for the moment. The first one is Group A. This is, perhaps, the strongest group this season. There given a lot to compete with Manchester United, Fenerbahce and Feynord. The team from the Premier League Favoriten ranking first, but it goes through difficult visit of Fenerbahce in Istanbul. Reds have experienced difficulties in the Turkish capital repeatedly and given their shaky form this meeting is a potential stumbling block for the boys of Jose Mourinho. On Feynord and Fenerbahce their forthcoming visit to Ukraine and two barn hope of misstep of anlichanite to occupy one of two places entitling participation in the tournament and spring. Group A seems to be one of the most interesting observation in the final stage of this phase.
In Group D standings is very equal. There Anderlecht, Mainz and St Etienne have 5 points. With two home games against Mainz and St Etienne Anderlecht's team in the best position. Mainz have two away games against Anderlecht and Saint-Etienne and stalking errors of others to qualify ahead.
Only three points divide first and last place in Group F. Austria Vienna in the best position here. Once held up draw against Roma in Italy and now meet the Romans in one of his remaining households. Victory in one of the two meetings will mean qualification for the Austrians. Roma will have to fight for second position if it fails to take points from the match in Vienna.
Another Italian team, which will be difficult ranking ahead is Inter Milan. Located at the bottom of Group C with 3 out of a possible 9 points team achieved victory at home against England Southampton. The visit to England seems difficult, especially after the dismissal of Frank de Boer. Loss on English soil could have put Sparta Prague in a comfortable position to qualify. Dropping in the group stage again, will be a big disappointment for the Milan giants.
Remain three games in group and only 7 teams out of 48 have lost their chances to qualify. Apparently the battle for places in the knockout phase will be fierce and will lead to the end.
